◄ Back to Transfusion News

Applications are now open for Round 5 of the National Blood Sector Research and Development Program.

Applications for grant funding will fall into one of the three following categories:

  • Project Grants (up to 3 years)
  • Seed Grants (typically up to 1 year)
  • Scholarships (typically up to 1 year)

Applications will be required to address evidence gaps in either:

  • Patient Blood Management
  • Immunoglobulin product use

In planning for this Round in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBA has taken account of feedback received from stakeholders. A longer period has been allowed between opening and closing of the application period. To assist with planning, a request for expressions of interest in submitting an application will be circulated by the NBA in the first half of the application period.

The NBA is closely monitoring for possible further impacts of COVID-19 restrictions. Any changes that may be necessary to Round 5 arrangements will be clearly communicated.

Further information is available on the NBA’s website at https://www.blood.gov.au/research-and-development.

Applications close at 11:59pm on 28 September 2020 (Australian Eastern Standard Time AEST).
