Marija Jovanovic
Order Fulfilment Officer, Perth Processing Centre

What’s your role?

I am an Order Fulfilment Officer. During normal business hours I go between Customer Service (who take the orders) and our customers, fulfilling orders. This means picking, packing and issuing products to get them out the door to customers when they need them. But after hours that changes and I also go between customers and on-call doctors, getting things approved, making orders and organising pick-ups and deliveries.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

I check my emails as a first order of business when I get to work because even though I might not have been away for too long, a lot has happened and I need to know about ongoing issues or issues requiring further attention. We issue blood, platelets, plasma and manufactured products to our metro hospitals and the rest of Western Australia so it’s always busy! It’s always go, go, go in order fulfilment, I can’t tell whether it’s busier during the day or after hours when we take on some of the customer service tasks too.

What is the most important aspect of your role?

Getting the orders 100% right! This saves lives. We all know we’re here for the patients; people’s lives depend on us so everything else in our lives goes on the backburner. It doesn’t matter what we might be going through in our personal lives, when we’re at work, it’s all about our customers and their patients.

How are you and your team working to better serve customers?

We do the best we can to meet our customers’ needs and fill the orders. We also communicate with other departments in Perth and around Australia to make sure our customers always get what they need in a timely manner.

What do you love about your job?

We are a very strong team; we help each other out throughout the day at work, or outside. I know that I can always count on my team and I hope they feel the same about me!

What’s something unique or interesting about your team that customers might not know?

Our team is like a box of chocolates – you never know what you’re gonna get!

We have a unique sense of humour, we joke a lot, but we also work really hard.

We are a very multicultural team, our team members come from all over the world: we have Australian, Portuguese, Dutch, Indian, Chilean, Finnish, Irish, Scottish, Malaysian, Chinese, New Zealand and Serbian staff members!
