We’re proud to announce that the Blood Service was awarded the 2016 Logistics Management Award at the annual Supply Chain and Logistics Australia Awards (SCLAA) in Sydney.
The awards celebrate and recognise organisations across Australia for their contribution and success in the Supply Chain and Logistics industry. The ‘Logistics Management Award’ is a new award category for 2016 for organisations whose achievement, improvement or results required a logistical approach to improvement or a major change to the organisation’s logistics management.
The Blood Service was chosen because we had been shortlisted under the ‘Technology’ category for several manufacturing improvement projects and also for our long-standing dedication to the supply of blood products.
Supply Chain Solutions Project Manager, Nigel Edwards, was thrilled to accept the award on behalf of the Blood Service.
“It was great to have been recognised, we’re very proud. The other SCLAA awards are for specific projects; however this award, which is the last one of the evening, is very significant as it’s kind of like the ‘Gold Logie’ of logistics!” he said.
“At the Blood Service each one of us brings our own individual expertise, which when combined forms a strong team that is always focused on the patient outcome. It was great to be recognised for our humanitarian supply chain capabilities.”
